Brazil has also launched a process to adopt an equivalent decision to allow Brazilian data transfers to the EU, the EC said.

The draft adequacy decision will now go to the European Data Protection Board for review, and the EC will also seek approval from a committee made up of EU member representatives, it said. The European Parliament has the right to scrutinize the decision as well, the EC added.
