Canada’s Privacy Commissioner to Lead Global Privacy Assembly
Canadian Privacy Commissioner Philippe Dufresne was elected Friday as chair of the Global Privacy Assembly, replacing Borislav Bozhinov, chairman of the Bulgarian Commission of Personal Data Protection. He's the first Canadian chair of the group.

The election was part of GPA’s 47th annual conference, which was held in Seoul, Sept. 15-19. GPA includes 130 global data protection and privacy authorities. Dufresne said his priorities going into the two-year term as chair include addressing the privacy impacts of technology, advancing youth privacy issues and bolstering data free flow with trust.
