Class Action Filed Against TransUnion Over July Data Breach

TransUnion failed to secure personally identifiable information and financial data of more than 4 million people, attorneys said in a class action lawsuit announced Monday (see 2508280024).

Attorneys filed the lawsuit on behalf of Colorado resident Crystal Sevigny, and are seeking to represent all U.S. residents impacted by the breach. It was filed with the U.S. District Court for Northern Illinois (docket 1:25-cv-10759). The filing cites violations of statutory and common law and the FTC Act’s prohibitions on unfair or deceptive acts or practices.
