ICF's CamHub website, which isn't available in Italy currently, offers free or paid video streaming services with sexually explicit content, including through specific chat rooms.
Garante's warning followed press reports of major incidents involving the unauthorized disclosure of videos from private cameras. It notified the company that reactivating the website in Italy could amount to unlawful processing of personal data because the data subjects didn't give specific consent and because the images are so sensitive.
Disclosure of private and intimate content is likely to cause serious and irreparable harm to the people involved, and the DPA will take any action deemed appropriate after its investigation, it added.
