EDPB Meets With EU Adequacy Decision Holders on Enforcement Priorities

The European Data Protection Board (EDPB) met Tuesday for a second time with data protection commissioners and DPAs from countries and the European Patent organization, all of which have been determined to have adequate data protection practices, it said Wednesday. During the online session, they shared views on past activities and updates on the next enforcement and advisory priorities, it said.

Adequacy decisions allow the "free flow of personal data from Europe to third countries or an international organization offering an adequate level of data protection," the EDPB noted. So far, Andorra, Argentina, Canada, the Faroe Islands, Guernsey, Israel, Isle of Man, Japan, Jersey, New Zealand, the Republic of Korea, Switzerland, the U.K., Uruguay, the U.S. and the European Patent Organisation have such decisions, the board said.
