Tatiana Rice has become senior director of U.S. legislation at the Future of Privacy Forum (FPF), she announced on LinkedIn Monday. Keir Lamont held the role previously (see 2508040035). Rice has had several roles at FPF, including policy counsel, senior counsel and director.
Molly Crawford has been named executive vice president and head of public policy at the Interactive Advertising Bureau, IAB said in a LinkedIn post Thursday. Crawford previously was an FTC senior attorney in the Office of Congressional Relations. She was also attorney advisor and chief of staff to former FTC Chairman Joseph Simons.
Erlend Methi became legal director at the Danish Data Protection Authority Monday, according to a press release from the agency. Previously, Methi was a lawyer at Wiersholm. He has a background in administrative law and human rights issues.
Keir Lamont is leaving the Future of Privacy Forum after serving nearly four years as senior director, he announced via LinkedIn on Monday. He gave no reason for his departure, which will occur later this week. Lamont said his next position will keep him "at the intersection of law, technology, and policy." Lamont's fortnightly newsletter, The Patchwork Dispatch, which summarized privacy legislation, regulation and enforcement, will end, he added.
Nik Blosser will be Oregon’s first Chief Privacy Officer and Artificial Intelligence Strategist, announced Oregon Chief Information Officer Terrence Woods on Tuesday. Blosser will craft the strategic vision of the state in relation to privacy, data protection and AI. He previously served as chief of staff for Gov. Kate Brown (D) and is co-founder of Celilo Group Media.
The Electronic Privacy Information Center (EPIC) added current and former government officials and academics to its advisory board, it announced Wednesday. The four new members will help EPIC bolster its policy work at the state level on AI and data protection, counter the White House's deregulatory push that "has threatened children's privacy protections" and "created ... risks that industry interests will be prioritized over consumer safety."
The FCBA appointed Lisa Higginbotham, Comcast vice president of regulatory affairs, to its privacy and data security committee, Higginbotham announced on LinkedIn Monday. A 22-year FCC veteran, Higginbotham previously served the FCBA as a member of its nominations committee, co-chair of the diversity committee and co-chair of the women leaders committee.
David Stauss has joined the Troutman Pepper law firm, he said in an email Monday. He previously worked in the privacy and cybersecurity group at Husch Blackwell. Stauss said he plans to contribute to Troutman's privacy blog.
Stephen Almond will join the Centre for Information Policy Leadership (CIPL) as vice president of policy and consulting, announced Hunton Andrews law firm Thursday. The firm is one of the founders of CIPL, a global data and privacy think tank. Almond will take on his new role in September once he departs as executive director of regulatory risk at the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). Google's William Malcolm will assume the ICO position (see 2507160020).
Privacy consultant Robert Bateman is joining Privacy Partnership as a senior partner, he announced on LinkedIn Wednesday. Bateman's resume includes numerous articles, including a stint at Digital Privacy News.
